Berlin-Wittenau, 2025. “TYCJAN RUBENS DYKAS” is a multi-layered cinematic and painterly self-portrait set in the industrial rawness of a Berlin coffee roastery. An immigrant-artist undertakes a daring dialogue with the canon of the Old Masters, sculpting a figurative narrative of fall and rebirth onto a monumental 4.5-meter canvas. It is an intimate confession recorded in coffee dust, Baroque light, and pure whites—a manifesto of identity in a foreign city, and a third, definitive attempt to find the sacrum within the warehouse profanum.
